A beautiful Greek Orthodox icon of Jesus Christ the Pantokrator (Ruler of All), handmade & hand painted by an expert Greek hagiographer.
The iconic image of Christ Pantocrator was one of the first images of Christ developed. In the half-length image, Christ holds the New Testament in his left hand and makes the gesture of teaching or of blessing with his right.
The oldest known surviving example of the icon of Christ Pantocrator is being preserved in the remote desert of the Sinai, in Saint Catherine’s Monastery.
Made using traditional materials (selected aged timber frames, egg tempera, 24K gold leaf, natural powder paint and varnishes) and old techniques. It is an exact reproduction of an antique Byzantine masterpiece.
